Consisting of a corps over 200 strong, CFE’s dedicated volunteers see first-hand the positive impact our programs have on Chicago public elementary students and their teachers across the city. Each year, volunteers provide indispensable support for our programs by reviewing and evaluating teacher grants, coordinating our annual Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop, visiting grant-winning classrooms, and promoting our programs to CPS elementary teachers and schools. CFE programs provide an important bridge that directly engages the private sector in volunteer opportunities that affirm the accomplishments and dedication of outstanding teachers, while revealing the daily challenges and complexities of urban education in classrooms across the city.

CFE volunteer opportunities are flexible, and can be shaped around your interests, skills, and schedule. CFE’s programs operate in a variety of locations—public schools throughout the city, our office in the historic Wrigley Building, or even homes in the suburbs. We thank all volunteers for whatever time they can give, whether a few hours, a lunch break, or a more extensive, regular commitment.

Volunteer Tasks
